Jennifer Locke Whetham currently lives in Portland, OR, where she teaches writing.

She is currently finishing up two books.  The first, a novel about Shakespeare, explores the authorship question and the relationship between the Tudor monarchs (from Henry VII to Elizabeth I) and the Bard of Avon.

The second, a memoir titled Bondage: Meditations on Marriage and Madness, is grounded in stories of her Australian family history (she can trace her ancestors to a convict on the First Fleet), her parents’ successful marriage, and her own “failed” first marriage that ended in divorce.

She holds a B.A. in English Literature from the College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University, an M.A. in English Literature from Western Washington University, and an M.F.A. in Poetry from Pacific University.
